Voices in Time

This digital preservation project has preserved a number of important interviews with some of the founders of the Institute of Contemporary Jewry. These testimonies reflect the spirit behind the founding of the Institute. Please feel free to listen to the oral histories of Prof. Roberto Bachi, Prof. Moshe Davis, Prof. Simon Herman, and Ms. Shulamit Nardi.

Israeli Association of Oral History

The Oral History Division has initiated the founding of the Israeli Association of Oral History. One of its goals is to coordinate between all the various historical organizations which archive and preserve audio documentation. Another is to promote the use of audio testimony for scientific research. The president of the association is Prof. Dov Levin.

New Interview Projects

Currently there are several new interview projects underway, including the Aliyah of Ethiopian Jews via the Sudan.

Training Course

A training course for interviewing techniques was started in 1996. Since then, 260 students have participated. Courses start every fall. If you are interested, please contact Ricki Garti (Tel. 972-2-588-2372).
